Voting

Democrat Terry McAuliffe won the Virginia governor's race. That makes me very happy becasue I voted for him. McAuliffe was ahead with just 48 percent of the vote, to Cuccinelli’s 45 percent. (FoxNews.com). Everyone should go out and vote with any election that we have. It doesn't matter if the elections is big or small. You have the right to vote, So go out and vote for what you believe in!

The poems

My least favorite poem from the seven we had to read is " After great pain, - a formal feelings comes-" I really didn't understand what she was trying to say in this. Then it was confusing. Now my favorite is the "After Apple Picking". Now that one just seem a little bit happy. It was very detailed about what type of dreams & about sleep. And plus it wasn't sad & depressing. All of the things we read are just sad stories. It was nice to read one that wasn't sad.

Dog poems

So today in class, we're reading these dog peoms. There are coming from a dog point of view but it's written by a human. Lol. But it's how these dogs connect to a human through experience, emotion & abuse.

"The night my dad went to jail" children's

So I was in my English class & me & a class mate were on Instagram & we saw this post. The post was about a children story. It was call "The night my dad went to jail" This is just crazy. Why would you want your child to read this?! If that situation would happen to a family, which I hope no family should go through that, but it's the parents duty to tell their children what's going on not a book. This is the type of stuff that would me homeschool my kids, if I had any. I feel like they are trying to expose kids too fast. Let them be kids.

government shutdown

Okay, I really don't have that you at much insight on all this but I think this is just crazy. How can you just shut down the government?! It's our government. It seems  like they are trying to hurt not help us. 800,000 thousand people are out of work as we speak. That's a lot of people! National park and landmarks are closed for business. The people that work for them will not be paid. The house and the senate cant agree on a spending, so they just going to just shut it down? Who knows how long this going to last? A week, a month, a year? The damage that's going to happen because of this isn't worth a shut down of the government because they are bumping heads.

Everything that Rises Must Converge part two

This story was a good read. I how Julian kept going back & forth with himself in his head. It was like he was trying to find ways to pick at his mother but in a funny way. He jokes about bringing a black women home to meet his mom or having a black doctor to take care of his mother knowing how she feels about black people. Well at the end of the story his mother is just laying down on the ground and nothing more was said. So we had to create a part two to this story. My part was nothing like the original story. " Julian called for help, it had seem to be too late to help his mother. She had died on the sidewalk. A few days later, her funeral had took place. Julian made sure that only black people showed up. As he walked in the church, he had woman by his side. The woman turned out to be a black woman. I'm sure that his mother was turning in her grave."

A Good Man Is Hard To Find

A Good Man Is Hard To Find was a little funny to me. I'm not sure if any one else thought it was funny, maybe that's just me being weird. " I have found that violence is strangely capable of returning my characters to reality and preparing them to accept their moment of grace."-Flannery O'Connor. I think that quote relates to the story is that you wouldn't have thought that all of those people would have died during the trip. I thought it was just a family trip. With the "moment a grace" part, I think everybody found a moment of grace, even the misfit sort of. The grandmother found hers when right before she died talking to the misfit right before he shot her. In a way I think that the misfit found his, before and after he killed her. When she was talking to him, his voice began to crack. Maybe he was getting emotional when she was talking prayer and Jesus. And after he says" Its no real Pleasures in life." Maybe he had to kill people to find his "moment of grace".

Good Writing.

Okay, so far the last couple of stories we have been reading have been a little in the crazy side. Someone is either losing their mind, seeing people in wallpaper or putting someone in a wall. The point is that crazy people can make a very good story. They don't see things like we do, so their stories are more interesting then the normal ones. You're like this guy is pretty weird but you cant seem to put the book or paper down.

Our First Essay

So on Wednesday, we got our topic for our very first essay. We have to  choose a character from one of the stories that we read & are going to read and somewhat compare yourself to the character. You have to explore your relationship with that character. Myself personally, I really think that this is a good idea and I am looking forward to writing my essay.

The Reading for The Yellow Wallpaper

So the Yellow Wallpaper was kind if crazy. At first, I was mostly confused after that, I was just like lady is crazy. Once I finished reading it, I almost understand why she was going crazy.
Once your husband locks you in a room for three months, you would go crazy as well. You can say that she was seeing herself in the wallpaper cause she said she seen a women behind bars and that was like her. I thought it was a good story, but I still want to know why her husband past out.
